STUD SERVICE
Don’t have a buck? No problem! Our registered Mini and Standard Nubian bucks are willing and ready to help you out!!
We offer stud service via driveway breeding only, we DO NOT board does for breeding. Our herd tested annually and is disease free from CAE/CL/Johne’s and does additionally are negative for Brucellosis and Q Fever in 2025. We require negative test results for CAE, CL, Johne’s and Q Fever, no more than 3 months prior to the anticipated breeding, for any doe AND the herd she comes from before she will be permitted on our property. This is non negotiable for the health and safety of our herd, yours and others interested in Stud Service. We DO NOT accept herd testing results from Sage Lab.
Driveway breeding is best on day 1-2 of a doe’s heat cycle. Driveway breeding is typically available 9am-6pm except for holidays as we like to enjoy our holidays with family and friends. Rain and snow days are not suitable for driveway breeding for the health and safety of all goats involved. Our barns and shelters are reserved for our livestock only.
How do I know if my doe is in heat?
She gets talkative
She wags her tail
Her personality may change
Her tail is sticky from discharge
If in milk, her production will drop
She acts bucky, mounting other does and making buck sounds
She stands for mating
What if my doe doesn’t show signs of being in heat?
Not all does openly show signs of being in heat, some are very subtle while others are obnoxious as all heck! Using a “Buck Rag” works like a charm. We rub a rag on one of our stinky buck’s heads to collect their aroma which you can pick up at the farm or have mailed to you in a sealed ziplock bag (shipping fee will be applied), then bring it to your does to sniff. Hang it on their fence and let them soak it all in. Once you see their tails wagging/flagging, you know they are in heat. A first heat may not be a full heat, but false heat. Typically they short cycle and their next heat will be a good time to breed. Most does cycle every 21 days so it is good to keep track of their cycle if you intend on breeding them.
The Stud Service fee is for the initial breeding. Should the doe come into heat again after being with our buck, you can bring her back a second time under the initial Stud Service fee within 60 days of the initial breeding. If the doe continues to come into heat after a second breeding, you should have your doe evaluated by a vet for reproductive health. No refund for does that do not settle with a buck that has already settled does on our farm.
Stud Service fee is non refundable. You will be given a Service Memo for MDGA bucks which you will use when you go to register their kids. We will submit a service memo through ADGA for Nubians, be prepared to provide us with your doe’s registered name and registration number at the time of breeding.
